Joanna was born in the breathtaking mountains and diverse culture of Santa Fe, New Mexico and currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She is currently the Assistant Costumer at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre where she has been assisting with costumes for over 20 main stage and school performances since she started in October 2015.
Her love of performing arts began at age six, culminating in over thirty stage productions with the Santa Fe Playhouse and Pandemonium Productions in Santa Fe, two summer boot camps in improv and sketch at Chicago's Second City and several local commercials including a voice-over for United Way of Santa Fe. Following her passion for the arts, in 2013, she earned her B.A. in Theatre from Lake Forest College in Illinois, focusing on performance, voice and costuming.
During her studies at LFC, she earned lead roles in three mainstage productions and spent a semester in Florence and London studying Renissance Literaterature and Art and Italian, enjoyed seeing 25 plays in London in 7 weeks, and spent spring break in Vienna, Prague and Berlin. A few years later, she would find herself emmersed in the culture of Japan and Taiwan.
Upon graduation in 2013, she obtained the position as LFC's Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer for Little Women the Musical.
In the summer of 2014, Joanna was cast with a supporting role in an independednt film, June Falling Down, shot in Door County, Wisconsin.

Joanna's has 10 years of voice training in musical theatre. In 2013 and 2014, She was invited to participate in two song-writing festivals in Door County, Wisconsin at the Holiday Music Motel where she helped write and record over ten original songs with various musical artists.
Joanna has a thirst for creativity and shares in the belief of her mentors that performance, art and music can change people and, ultimately, the world.
